The initial seven columns

Here are the details for this mode. Each opening column contains seven cards for a total of 49 tableau cards. The first three cards in each of the first four columns are face down. Three cards remain in the stock. All cards in the last three columns are face up.

Build in the same suit

A few details help explain this feature. A moved group's leading card must land on a card exactly one rank higher in the same suit. A seven of hearts cannot land on an eight of spades. A King cannot land on another card because no higher rank exists. A seven of hearts can land on an exposed eight of hearts.

Move exposed groups

A few details help explain this feature. Any face-up card can be selected together with every card beneath it. The selected cards do not need to share a suit to travel together. The selected cards do not need to descend in rank to travel together. The leading selected card still has to meet the destination rule.

The empty-column rule

Here are the details for this mode. Cards beneath a moved King do not need to be in sequence. An empty column is therefore less flexible than an empty column in ordinary Spider. An empty column accepts a King or a group led by a King. A group led by a lower rank cannot enter an empty column.

Here are the details for this mode. This Scorpion version permits its stock deal when columns are empty. The stock contains one final deal of three cards. There are no further stock cards after the three-card deal. Dealing places a face-up card on each of the first three columns.
